Our Story

Lea Cares develops and produces products in cosmetics and has early development projects in medical devices and industry. The cosmetic products are produced with our patented technology, BioActive Mineral (BAM), for use on hair, skin and nails. BAM  is absorbed locally to give the intended effect and thereby improves the quality of nails, skin and hair. In cosmetics the use of our patented content gives an increased growth of collagen and in the Medical Devices business area, our primary focus in wound care with the aim to develop innovative products for rapid healing and less scar tissue.

Our vision is to contribute to healthier people, happiper animals and a sounder planet.

Our mission is to improve health and well-being by combining the latest research with innovative solutions and approved substances by adapting products for unmet medical and market needs.

Our business idea is to combine research in materials science and innovative technology with well-proven formulations, give rise to completely new, revolutionary products in health, beauty, industry and care - for both humans and animals.

Meet the founders

The three founders; a young pharmacist Viktoria Engqvist, an experienced entrepreneur Jenny Lundell, with a market-oriented perspective and  Håkan Engqvist, professor in Applied Materials Science at Uppsala University started Lea Cares in 2021. With the base in science and years of research the first product, a nail serum, based on our patented technology, was developed and launched in 2022.

The innovation -

boosting the growth of collagen

Applied materials science

Lea has patented technology, BioActive MineralⓇ  which has been proven to increase the bioavailability of Si (silicon) and Ca (calcium). Our products can thereby release silicon and calcium locally in areas where collagen growth needs to be boosted.

The use of BAM in cosmetics promotes the growth of collagen, thereby improving and strengthening the  nails, skin and hair.

BAM has also shown effect for antibacterial and antiviral applications and Lea Cares intends to develop this

further in medical devices, industry and animal care.
